When can you hear puppy heartbeat with a stethoscope?
Yes, at six weeks into pregnancy, you may be able to detect the fetal heart beats but may not be able to distinguish between individual puppy heart beats. Sheryl at Revival
Great information. Thank you
🙂
Finally a pair of experts without an annoying redundant introduction
😀
The immunotherapy can be a lifesaver when they no longer drink or eat but you must know how to use it. I also gave him pure vit d 0.28 of a drop which corresponds the ui dose in cats. Half a drop weekly of 10000 ui should help to counter immunotherapy.
🙂
Thanks. The probiotic helped a bit as well as i tried the immunotherapy although he needs to be dewormed too. As far as the dewormer he hasn't received it yet as we want the vet to check the strain first. Hopefully he gets better. It is working but without the appropriate dewormer i worry it won't be quite enough to solve the problem definitely. So it seems you need dewormer+litter cleaning+hydration+probiotic+immunotherapy for actually curing this horrible issue. Water helps buffering the colonic pH. I believe with the dewormer makes sense once he is on a maintenance antiinflammatory dose rather than an immunosuppressive one.
Thanks for sharing your experience and information. Sheryl at Revival
My 15 year old female West Highland Terrier started having trouble urinating a week ago and had some blood clots when she did pass a little bit of urine as she was straining, I gave her 250mg vitamin C twice a day (500mg total per day) , cranberries, cranberry juice - I also gave her chicken broth to make sure shes getting enough water along side the vitamin C, within a few days she was back to being able to urinate properly and has stopped straining. Not sure if its just a coincidence but the vitamin C, cranberries, and chicken broth combination seems to have fixed the issue.
I would advise to have your vet examine her to make sure there's no underlying infection going on. Sheryl at Revival
Is it beneficial for kittens?
Yes, it is. Sheryl at Revival
I love this !!!
🙂
I wonder why they love the bowels perhaps because it's close to an exit (orefice) so they can spread once they are out. Evil.

@@RevivalAnimal he has dealt with crickets and it seems this parasite is recurrent in him. I am assuming the larvae are not entirely eradicated hence why.
Depending on what type of medication you're using some medications do not treat larvae. Please consult with your vet as to what medication may be effective for your needs. Sheryl at Revival.
@@RevivalAnimal true. Yes been hearing from a different vet. Many thanks.
🙂My pleasure. Thank you for visiting Revival Animal Health, have good day!
Could they get them from lizards as my cat toothed them as a kitten and also a few years ago he nearly choked on one's tail it dropped in his throat. Teeth could transfer parasites down their pharynx and with gravity could end up in their bowels I'm assuming.
If you have any concerns your cat may have parasites you can take a stool sample to your vet and ask them to do a PCR test. Sheryl at Revival.
@@RevivalAnimal thanks I checked the stool sample myself and he has cytoisospora.
I would recommend to have your vet test to see what strain it may be. Sheryl at Revival

My cat (feemale) was in heat, however she was not so stubborn so we chosed to wait a little longer for doing castration, we closed her inside home and she spent time with us, it lasted 5 days, suddenly my cat stopped eating and we bring her to the vet and we were told that it could be some kind of virus (like cold, flu or something and she got 3 inections), she starts eating again a little but again after maybe a day or two she got that circle in mouth that after few hours started bleeding, l know it hurts her bcz she doesnt eat and cry sometimes, l gotta wait Monday for go to the vet...l really hope its not serious and that l can wait 24h more, my heart breaks seeing her in pain, what this could be?

Have you seen tapeworms infect the animal owners? How were they diagnosed? Ova and parasite tests for people do not test for or detect tapeworms. Do you know the protocol for diagnosing people with tapeworms? Thanks
Diagnosis of Taenia tapeworm infections is made by examination of stool samples; individuals should also be asked if they have passed tapeworm segments. Stool specimens should be collected on three different days and examined in the lab for Taenia eggs using a microscope. These infestations are found worldwide. They can be caused when humans consume raw or undercooked animal products that contain worm larvae (for beef or pork). Humans can also become infested after close contact with animals like cats and dogs. Sheryl at Revival

I know that with people they tube feed through the nose because of the chewing factor if tube feeding was through the mouth. Also I heard that you have a larger throat passage through the nose.
If the pet is able to chew, we usually use syringe feeding if they have teeth. During tube feeding with babies, they may appear to suckle. They're not really trying to eat the tube. Sheryl at Revival
Thank you for response@@RevivalAnimal
Thank you for visiting Revival Animal Health, enjoy your day! 😀
People are tube fed through the nose. Why don't you tube feed through the nose of the puppy?
Feeding a puppy through the mouth may not compromise respiration vs the nose. It can be done both ways. That's a good question! Sheryl at Revival
Is there research to support this for kittens? Does anything need to be modified?
Dr. Greer is on vacation at this time and is unable to respond to your question. Please consult with your local vet and they should be able to answer your questions also. Sheryl at Revival

If I have powdered Oral Cal, what dose might I use for a 95 pound mama … even though I know she would have to digest it I could mix it with something yummy. That or go right to the Doc Roy’s?
@linireading506, We recommend the Oral Cal Plus Gel during a low calcium episode. It's absorbed in the cheek immediately for quick effect. The Oral Cal Powder or Doc Roy's Healthy Bones must go through the digestive track which may take too long. Sheryl at Revival.
Thank you for your reply. My oral cal plus tube is expired I just realized and I have a litter due anytime. It won’t hurt anything if I mix it with a little ice cream to give her between Puppies will it? Also, I was very interested in Dr. Marty Greer’s pregnancy food, the Royal Canin HT42d. My guardian family has been feeding their girl royal Canaan intestinal diet and I don’t believe that’s probably nutritional sound for a pregnant dog so we were wondering about getting her switched over before the next heat cycle. I believe I heard her say you can only get it from Royal Canaan but when I Google it I don’t see how to order it. Would I just need to call Royal Canaan and find out about that and will I need a veterinarians prescription? I am so thankful for this subscription and to have the opportunity to listen to Dr. Greer’s knowledge across-the-board. Thank you so very much. Lini Reading Montana Mist Goldens 406 253-6552
Sorry for some of the typos, Siri doesn’t hear very well at times😩
We don't advise to use any expired product. I would highly recommend to purchase new. Sheryl at Revival
It's ok. I don't use Siri and still have plenty of typos! LOL 🙂
Is doc Roy’s efficient as oral CalPlus?
The Oral Cal Plus Gel has a quicker effect for low calcium episodes and the Oral Cal Plus Powder is designed to help maintain calcium levels during lactation. Healthy Bones has to go through the digestive track first and can take too long. Sheryl at Revival
you didnt say how often, I hear some say every two hours and some say every 3 or 4. I dont want to feed too much or too little.
Infants are fed approx. every 2 hours and as they get older and eat more it may be 3-4 hrs between feedings. Sheryl at Revival

Dextrose is toxic and synthetically made. No one needs that poison
Dextrose is a type of sugar that usually comes from corn or wheat. It is almost identical to glucose, which is the sugar found in the bloodstream. For that reason, it can be quickly used as a source of energy by the body to save a puppy or kittens life. Dextrose serves to replenish lost nutrients and electrolytes. The agent provides metabolic energy and is the primary ingredient in oral rehydration salts and is used in intravenous (IV) fluids to provide nutrients to patients under intensive care who are unable to receive them by the oral route. Solutions containing dextrose restore blood glucose levels, provide calories, may aid in minimizing liver glycogen depletion and exerts a protein-sparing action. Dextrose also plays a role in the production of proteins and in lipid metabolism. Sheryl at Revival
What is an adequate dose of folic acid? What about DHA?
This B vitamin is essential in stopping several birth deficiencies that involve a neural tube, cleft palate, and spinal defects. A healthy dose of folate would be 400 mcg for a big dog, 200 mcg for an average dog, and 50 mcg for a small dog. A recommended dose is 1,000 mg (180 EPA and 120 DHA) per 20 pounds of the mother's body weight daily. Sheryl at Revival
@RevivalAnimal Thank you. I looked up a research paper on dermoid sinus, which is a neural tube defect seen mostly in dogs with a dorsal ridge of backwards growing hair. The study recommends 10 times that, or 2.5-5 milligrams for a large dog like a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Thank you for sharing your finding. We would advise to consult with your vet regarding your options also. Sheryl at Revival

Hello, My dog entered her first heat cycle on December 5 and could’ve possibly tied on December 11 by a smaller dog by accident. I didn’t see or hear anything. I took her for a pregnancy test on January 6th and came back negative but February 8th is when I noticed her belly feeling weird and some clear liquid coming from her nipples. She doesn’t have any vaginal discharge. Could this be a phantom pregnancy or should I actually be concerned? I am anxious about it and can’t have any puppies..

But what is normal crying sounds vs something is wrong crying sounds?
Puppies will cry or whine when they're hungry, lonely, cold, or in pain. Excessive crying all the time needs the cause to be determined. If you can't determine the cause of your puppy's crying, it's best to take it to a veterinarian for thorough examination. Sheryl at Revival.
I've befriended a stray in the neighborhood because i was around when her litter was born, and she's the only one that stayed in the area consistently, essentially taking over the territory. At this point, she has to be around at least 10 months or more and over the last month or so got pregnant by another local cat in the area. My gf and i feed her every day and kinda make sure she's ok. I know that my current living condition doesnt allow for me to have a pet, but i want to be sure she has a safe space for her to have babaies so im hoping i can find a good spot outside to make her some good nesting. I'd guess she'll be ready to deliver in the next few weeks so I want to prep a box or something for her. I hope i can help her out without having to bring her into my hotel room, but i wanna be sure shes safe. I know im her favorite person in here but shes still a feral cat so i can do almost everything but pick her up. Wish me luck on trying to provide a good home for them!
Good luck! Sheryl at Revival 🙂

How many times per day should i feed my dogs? Would the lixit water bottle be okay for adult dogs or is it only used for puppies?
Hi, I would say a lot depends on the age of your dog and overall condition of the pet. I feed my dogs once a day and they are in great shape. I know some people that split their daily ration into two feedings. You will have to figure out what works best for your dog and situation. The lixit water bottles can be used with all ages. My kitty needs B12 shots weekly for a while, so I have an appointment on Wednesday for them to teach me how to do it at home. I’m horribly afraid of needles but I think I can overcome it for him. I’ve been watching videos to help desensitize myself. How long should pups be on milk replacer?? Many thanks
As long as pups may need it. Once they're eating on their own and drinking water, they won't need it. Sheryl at Revival
How much of the needle are in? I worry that it's not deep enough
Should puppies go in the incubator right after birth then? I thought they should be immediately put with the dam.
It's ok to let the puppies go on mom. Some people will remove the puppies and put them on a heating pad or in the incubator. This is good to do so mom can focus on delivering the next pups and it ensures no pups get squashed during labor. Sheryl at Revival.
Hi what is the purpose of multiple different stains?
In veterinary medicine, it helps differentiate the stages of the mammalian estrous cycle because the vaginal epithelium changes in response to sex hormone levels; practically, it is used to distinguish when a female canine is at a particular point in the estrous cycle.[1] In a normal vaginal smear, lactational cells, navicular cells, endocervical cells, endometrial cells, trophoblastic cells, and leucocytes may be present. I scheduled another appointment for today already. i am thinking they might need to sedate him to actually look properly into his mouth... i am just so sad, 14 years with my best friend ever... thanks for your help.
Poor thing. I hope this gets resolved quickly. Sheryl at Revival
